Biography

Lily Sooyoung Kim was born and grew up in South Korea. From her youth age, she came in contact plentifully with music and fine art, leading her teenage life filled with passion and interest in metal and jewelry art. She finished her BFA in Metal Art & Jewelry Design at Hong-Ik University in South Korea. In addition, she made one step forward to the profession field by completing the Graduate Gemologist program at Gemological Institute of America. During college years she had cooperated with her schoolmates in running a jewelry studio where she piled up practical experience as a jewelry designer.

In 2006, Lily joined Rochester Institute of Technology and pursued MFA in Metals, School for American Crafts. She began her professional career as a jeweler in New York and moved to Montana where she currently works as an artist as well as maintaining her own studio.
